Environmental Test Limited for vibration, temperature, humidity, ingress testing etc.

Acceleration

Acceleration testing is usually performed on parts of aircraft, missiles, ordnance etc. to subject the component to the large g forces that are encountered during operation or in a crash situation.

Testing is usually carried out to prove the product will function under the conditions of acceleration it will see in normal service (structural test), to confirm that it will function and that no distortion or damage occurs at operational levels (operational test) and to confirm that, under crash acceleration levels (crash safety test), no part breaks free from the component or its mountings.

Typical spec: BS EN 60068-2-7:1993, IEC 60068-2-7:1983.
